About ScreenDetox
Built by a parent who lost the screen-time war — and decided to win it.
ScreenDetox didn’t start as a product. It started as a problem at my own dinner table.
I’m Esslam Mansour — a web developer and business marketer who likes building things that actually help people. But the thing that pushed me to build this was personal: my kids were glued to the iPad. Hours would disappear. I’d ask them to put it down; five minutes later it was back in their hands. The usual “screen time” settings were too easy to ignore, too easy to tap past. Soft reminders don’t beat an addictive feed.
So I decided to fix it — for my children first, and then for anyone else fighting the same battle. I didn’t want another gentle wellness app that politely suggests you take a break. I wanted something with a backbone. Something that holds the line when willpower runs out. That became the Sergeant.

The mission
Phones and iPads are incredible tools — for learning, for work, for staying close to the people we love. The problem isn’t the device. It’s how easily it owns us. ScreenDetox exists to flip that: keep the device for the good stuff, and cut the hours that quietly steal your day.
The Sergeant blocks the apps you choose, holds you to the schedules you set, and makes you justify every bypass at a Court Martial instead of handing you a free pass. It’s tough love — blunt, a little funny, never cruel. The goal is simple: less screen, more life.
Who’s behind it
ScreenDetox is built and operated by Esslam Mansour. It’s an independent project made with real care for your privacy — we don’t sell your data, show ads, or track you across other apps. Questions or ideas? The door’s always open at hello@screendetox.app.
